Compared to the feeder calf auction just one week ago (April 17) 500 - 600 lb steer calves were 11.00 to as much as 20.00 higher with 600 -700 lb calves 6.00 to 14.00 higher. Today's heifer trade saw 500 - 600 lb feeder calves 15.00 to as much as 23.00 higher. On a light test, 800 lb yearling cattle were 4.00 higher. Available today were reputation, home raised, LTW'd and double vaccinated feeder calves. Very strong prices today for light weight steers and heifers going to grass. Demand was very good for today's moderate supply. Internet bidding active throughout the auction.
