Compared to last week, 400-500 lb steer calves sold steady to firm, with 500-600 lb steers and 700-750 lb steers selling steady to 3.00 higher, instances 5.00 higher on the 5 weights, yearling steers over 750 lbs sold with a sharply higher undertone, 6 weight steers were very lightly tested. Feeder heifers had the best test on 500-600 lbs trading steady to 4.00 higher and 600-700 lbs traded with a higher undertone with a more attractive offering than last week. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm on a light test. Demand was moderate to good best on steers weighing 500-600 lbs and yearling steers over 700 lbs, supply was moderate. The start of a new week brought a sense of calm and optimism after last week's market challenges as CME cattle futures closed with triple-digit gains and the Stock Market had a good day closing nearly 1300 points higher.
