Compared to last week, a much larger offering this week with steer calves weighing under 450 lbs selling with a sharply higher undertone, 450-650 lbs sold steady to firm with instances 3.00-5.00 higher and over 650 lbs traded with a higher undertone on limited offerings from last week. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs sold firm to 5.00 higher with 500-600 lbs trading steady to 3.00 higher, 600-650 lbs on comparable sales sold steady to firm and over 650 lbs were not well tested. Demand was good to very good on a heavy supply. Over all a very attractive offering of steer and heifer calves weighing 400-650 lbs as quality ran deep all sold on and active market as did the pot loads and larger groups of yearlings weighing 650-700 lbs and over 800 lbs. Several stick out sales included pot load steers weighing weighing 854 lbs at 264.00, pot load weighing 848 lbs at 265.75, two pot loads of steers weighing 681-688 lbs at 291.50-293.25 and 98 head of heifers weighing 649 lbs at 280.00. Slaughter cows sold steady to 4.00 lower.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
