Compared to the last special two weeks ago, (last week was a special bred cow sale) a much lighter offering with the best test on 550-650 lb steers selling 3.00-10.00 higher and 650-800 lbs steers trading mostly steady. Feeder heifers had the best test on 600-750 lbs selling mostly 3.00-5.00 higher with all other weights lightly tested. Slaughter cows on a much lighter offering sold steady to firm with slaughter steers and heifers trading firm to 1.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good on a light offering as extreme heat across the area with temperatures reaching 100 degrees slowed receipts but market still remained very active with several large groups of good quality steers and heifers.
