Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 600 lbs 2.00-4.00 lower. Steers over 600 lbs not trended but sold with a lower undertone. Feeder heifers steady. Slaughter cows steady. Demand moderate. Supply light. Friday's Cattle on Feed Report was somewhat bullish as the placement total came in well below the trade guess at 109. Unfortunately the big story in the feeder market is corn plantings or lack thereof with corn futures another 17 cents higher Tuesday as the ceiling of the 2019 crop continues to lower.
