Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Steers and heifers steady to 4.00 higher based on comparisons to last weeks much lighter offering. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Demand moderate to good. Supply heavy. The fed cattle trade gained another 2.00-4.00/cwt last week as beef demand continues to be strong. No surprise that lots of producers brought cattle to town given the combination of the calendar, a stable feeder market and good weather.
