Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 500 lbs steady to 2.00 lower, over 500 lbs 2.00-7.00 lower. Feeder heifers steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady. Demand moderate. Supply moderate. The feeder market was pressured Tuesday by a bullish grains report which sent corn futures limit higher. A confluence of factors led by dramatically higher feed costs have fed cattle futures increasingly expecting some very atypical pricing this year with the market not much more than steady when it would normally be higher and then steady to higher through the summer when it would normally be lower.
