Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week steers and heifers sold mostly 3.00-10.00 higher except for a couple loads of 950 lb steers trading steady. Buyers were more optimistic this week and demand was good, especially for the yearlings coming off grass. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold firm to 3.00 higher, bulls sold steady. With lots to do this time of year, a much needed stretch of dry weather has allowed for quite a bit of hay to be put up over the last 5 days and farmers have made progress in the field.
