Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold mostly steady, except for steer calves under 500 lbs trading 5.00 higher. Demand was good for a light supply. Overall, cattle were carrying more flesh this week with more calves in the mix. A couple days of cooler weather and scattered showers was more than welcome to start the week. Slaughter cows sold firm to 3.00 higher, bulls 3.00-5.00 higher.
