Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers sold 3.00-5.00 higher and heifers sold steady to 3.00 lower. Demand was good for a moderate supply. Cattle futures and the cash fed trade have continued to slowly work higher over the last several weeks and there is an optimistic feel to the market. Varied amounts of rain fell across west central Missouri late last week and brought some welcome relief from near drought conditions, but some saw large amounts of excess moisture. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 lower following last weeks higher market.
