As filed

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers and heifers sold mostly 5.00 to 8.00 with some instances as much as 12.00 higher, particularly on 4 and 5 weight heifers. Slaughter cows steady to 3.00 higher. The outlook for the cattle sector is looking up since the last sale as packers finally paid up a little at 140.00/cwt last week and the optimism was reflected ringside. A pretty good variety on hand Thursday with several large strings of cattle , from yearlings and long time weaned stock to some outstanding quality calves right off the cow. Supply heavy, demand moderate to good.
