Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls traded steady to 1.00 higher with most of the gain on lean cows. Demand was good on a moderate supply. Damp cold weather moved into the area this week, keeping receipts moderate and demand for veterinarian supplies heavy. The USDA's Cold Storage Report released last week reported total pounds of beef in freezers were down 1 percent from the previous month and down 8 percent from last year.
