Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded steady with the exception of high dressing lean cows which were 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls traded 4.00-7.00 higher with most of the gain on high dressing animals. Demand was good on a moderate supply of slaughter animals and a light supply of replacement animals. Stocker buyers were unable to compete with the slaughter buyers as high dressing cows and bulls were very much in demand. Receipts were lower than normal as producers were looking at the weather forecast and trying to make hay while the sun shines.
