As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 5.00 lower with more calves in the offering this week and most carrying some flesh and/or fill. Yearlings were scarce. Demand was moderate for a moderate supply. Cattle futures struggled on Wednesday and most feeder contracts were $2.00-3.00 lower as grains continue to show strength and work higher. Some fed cattle traded at basically steady money while boxed beef prices rise and packers continue to enjoy handsome profits. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
