Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week; steers from 450 lbs to 499 lbs were 2.00 to 4.00 lower, steers from 500 lbs to 700 lbs were steady to 4.00 higher; heifers from 500 lbs to 650 lbs were 4.00 to 8.00 lower, instances of 10 lower. Good to very good demand for todays special weaned and pre-conditioned calf sale. Very active market on all classes of cattle with lots of buyers in the seats competing with internet buyers. Most of todays offering had been weaned for 45 days or longer, had 2 or more rounds of vaccinations, non-implanted and home raised. Flesh condition ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle out on pasture to moderate fleshed cattle coming out of a grow yards. Next feeder sale will be January 6, 2023. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
