Compared to last week: steer calves 450 to 500 and 601 to 700 lbs mostly steady with instances 2.00 lower on 601 to 650 lbs, 501 to 600 lbs steady to 2.00 higher. Best test on yearling steers 900 to 1000 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 higher with instances up to 10.00 higher on 950 to 1000 lbs. Heifer calves 450 to 500 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 higher, 501 to 600 lbs mostly steady. Best test on yearling heifers 800 to 850 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Good to very good demand for yearling cattle today with best demand seen for a couple strings of steers off grass. Varied flesh on yearlings , from light to moderate plus, with cattle coming both out of yards and off grass. Moderate to good demand for many packages and loads of attractive quality calves in today's offering. Unlike last week, most calves today had full preconditioning, or at least a full shot series in the fall. Flesh mostly light to moderate with all but one package of calves off the cow. An active market throughout the sale with order buyers and some farmer feeders in the seats. The weather has remained cold with colder weather in the forecast and some of the area received snow again today. Harvest has made good progress in the last week but has a ways to go. Next feeder cattle sale is next Wednesday, November 13.
