First reported sale since spring so an accurate price trend can not be established. Moderate to good demand for today's large yearling offering with loads and multiple loads of attractive steers and heifers off grass in light flesh seeing the best demand. Many packages of both steers and heifers included in the offering today, many of these off grass, and many of the heifers were home raised tested opens. Quality varied today, from plain to attractive. Market activity was mostly active with many buyers in the seats today. Producer attendance is more limited as many are concentrating on fall work, most of which is late this year. The next feeder cattle sale is next Thursday, October 3, expecting 1500 head or more of spring born calves.
