Compared to last week: steer calves 450 to 499 lbs mostly steady, 500 to 649 lbs 20.00 to 30.00 lower. Heifer calves 450 to 499 lbs 20.00 to 26.00 lower, 500 to 549 lbs mostly steady. Good demand for calves today. A much lighter offering than expected due to muddy yards and roads, calves that cancelled today will be here next week. A nice variety of loads and packages, all coming off the cow. Most calves had full preconditioning or at least one full round of shots in the fall. Flesh ranged from light to moderate plus with some tag seen at times. A moderate to active market with a few less farmer feeders in the seats this week. The continued decline of the futures complex has put quite a bit of pressure on the market. Rain at the start of the week has slowed harvest and there has been little to no sun to dry things out this week. Next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, November 12, expecting over 7000.
