Compared to last week: Yearling feeder steers and heifers steady to instances of 2.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves not well compared. Good demand for this lighter offering of yearlings, not as many full loads as last week but there were plenty of buyers on the seats. Flesh condition light to moderate plus, few in heavy flesh. As the cash fed cattle market works it's way higher and supply of yearlings gets tighter buyers are willing to chase the feeder market. Moderate demand for steer and heifer calves. Preconditioning status was uneven, few buyers willing to bid on calves lacking their booster shots while the market was much more active on the preconditioned calves. Most calves were right off the cow and in a moderate to moderate plus flesh. Slaughter cows and bulls steady with last Wednesday's sale.
