Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold with higher undertones compared to last week's limited offering. Very good demand for this very large offering of yearling steers and heifers, and weaned fall calves. The market was very active as there were many long strings of high quality yearlings offered in full loads and multiple load lots, and plenty of buyers on the seats ready to compete heavily. Plenty of smaller consignments to put together and make full loads throughout the day, as well. Flesh condition was attractive across a good portion of the yearlings, there were some heavy fleshed cattle as well, but overall the flesh was right. Cattle feeders were ready to buy these large strings while they can find them, as the summer marketing season begins and the runs taper off dramatically. Higher cattle futures complex helped to support the feeder market as well.
