As filed

Compared to last week: Slaughter steers steady to 2.00 higher, heifers steady. Holstein steers 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Moderate to good demand, yet not all packer buyers participated. A large offering of very attractive, high quality grading steers and heifers. Many full loads of steers, only 3 full loads of heifers. Weighing condition ranged from average to full, most steers costing from 167.00-169.00 dressed while the heifers were 165.00-167.00. The market was fairly active, two way buyers stepped in and pushed the market on cattle that look to meet delivery specs for delivering against the October futures contract which helped to create more competition this week. Slaughter cows and bulls steady.

Slaughter lambs 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Feeder lambs too lightly tested last sale to offer a good comparison with this week. Slaughter ewes rather steady. Good demand for slaughter lambs as the market was very active. Moderate to good demand for feeder lambs. Good demand remains for slaughter ewes, very good demand for ewes in good enough condition, and age, to return to the country.
