Compared to last week: There were few comparable sales to state a trend with exception of 775lb steers which sold $12 higher. Some lighter calves pushed the $2000/ hd mark this week, possibly setting a record. Heifers, on the other hand, exhibited a lower undertone on slow demand. Slaughter cattle pushed higher this week, with average and high yielding cows 9.00-13.00 higher and bulls up 11.00. Much of the turnout was dry beef cows and cull bulls.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
