Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Feeder heifers were mostly steady to firm on a light test. Not enough feeder steers reported for an adequate market trend. Receipts were light as a winter storm that brought snow and colder temperatures to the area blew in on Monday night. Additionally, continued volatility and uncertainty in the futures markets have caused most producers to hold onto these wheat cattle and continue to graze out thru May. Trade activity and buyer demand were moderate.
