Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Slaughter cows were mostly steady. Trading activity and buyer demand were moderate. Feeder cattle buyers were more conservative this week as the grain market continues to surge, with the corn board closing over 6.00 again today. A cold front moved into the area bringing with it freezing temperatures overnight.
