Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers were mostly steady compared to last weeks light test on heavier weight cattle. Not enough steer calves for a market trend. Heifer calves were mostly 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to firm. Trading activity was moderate to active on moderate to good buyer demand. Spotty rain showers have been reported across much of the Panhandle, with higher totals reported in the Southern region. Farmers are taking advantage of the recent moisture with winter wheat planting taking place across most of the region.
