Compared to last week: different weight classes of yearlings than last week with best test on steers 950 to 1000 lbs mostly steady, other weight classes of yearling steers and heifers not well compared. Best test on spring calves 550 to 600 lbs steers 2.00 higher, other weight classes of spring calves not well compared. Moderate to good demand for yearlings today. Mostly strings and loads making up the yearling offering, with best demand seen for loads off grass. Some heavy flesh and tag on yearlings out of feed yards. A handful of loads and many packages in today's calf offering which was met with light to moderate demand with best demand seen for loads from reputation outfits. Most calves in light to moderate flesh and all were off the cow. Varied preconditioning today and calves without all their shots were discounted. Market activity mostly active on today's offering. Dry weather the last few days has bean harvest progressing fairly rapidly and some corn harvest starting, mostly wet corn. A large offering expected for next Friday, November 1.
