Different weight classes of yearlings than last week so an accurate price trend can not be established, lower undertones noted on yearling steers. Good to very good demand for many string and loads of yearlings, both off grass and out of yards, flesh ran from light to heavy at times. Yearling quality varied more than last week, from plain to attractive. Today was the first run of spring calves, these were met with moderate to good demand. Many packages and a handful of loads available, all were off the cow. Preconditioning varied, and calves without all their shots were met with less demand. Quality varied quite a bit, from plain to attractive. Flesh also varied, from light to moderate plus. An active market with both buyers and a few farmer feeders in the seats today. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 29.
