Compared to the last sale 12/03/20: Bulk of the comparable trades occurred in the South Central states. Feeder steers and heifers lightly tested on Current trades what few trades did sell mostly steady. Calf trades were sharply lower than the last sales high trades, a strong winter storm bringing as much as 11 plus inches in Oklahoma and the East coast has many, mostly wheat producers, weary of health issues. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle; mostly light to moderate for calves as producers in wheat country are currently turning cattle out or looking to do so if health issues are in check. Fat cattle trade so far has remained somewhat steady. Supply consisted of 65 percent from the South Central; 13 percent from the West; 11 percent from North Central and 11 percent from the South East. Trades are current thru May 2021. Current delivery is thru December 31, 2020. The next sale will be the Bellringer XXVIII Sale on January 13-14, 2021.

Source: USDA AMS · Oklahoma City, OK. Prices are as filed, F.O.B. at origin, with the buyer taking freight — they are not comparable to a spot ring price and never enter a barn average. Weights are USDA’s estimates — these cattle had not been weighed when they sold. Delivery months differ between lots; a price for one month is not a price for another. Head is summed from the lots as reported.
