As filed

Compared to the last sale 1/27/2022: Bulk of the trades occurring in the South Central region. Feeder steers and steer calves sold 2.00-8.00 higher. Feeder heifer and heifer calves sold 5.00-15.00 higher. Demand very good for all classes. Since the last sale slaughter cattle prices have improved, but mostly feeder cattle contracts for the future months have risen sharply. This is helping demand for the lighter weight cattle. Supply included 81 percent South Central; 8 percent North Central; 5 percent South East; 5 percent West and about 1 percent North East. Current deliveries are cattle that will deliver 14 days from the date of the sale and are up to and including February 24, 2022. Deliveries are current thru May 2022.

Source: USDA AMS · Oklahoma City, OK. Prices are as filed, F.O.B. at origin, with the buyer taking freight — they are not comparable to a spot ring price and never enter a barn average. Weights are USDA’s estimates — these cattle had not been weighed when they sold. Delivery months differ between lots; a price for one month is not a price for another. Head is summed from the lots as reported.
