Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the last sale on 03/24/22: Feeder steers and heifers in the Southwest and the Southeast region sold mostly 4.00-10.00 lower. Sharp declines on both the CME Feeder and Live cattle contracts over the past two week's hampered buyer interest as it has in sale barns as well. Much of the drought ridden southern plains received moisture over the last week. Supply included 69 percent South Central; 06 percent North Central; 18 percent South East; 06 percent West and less than 1 percent North East. Current deliveries are cattle that will deliver 14 days from the date of the sale and are up to and including April 22, 2022. Deliveries are current thru December 2022.

Source: USDA AMS · Oklahoma City, OK. Prices are as filed, F.O.B. at origin, with the buyer taking freight — they are not comparable to a spot ring price and never enter a barn average. Weights are USDA’s estimates — these cattle had not been weighed when they sold. Delivery months differ between lots; a price for one month is not a price for another. Head is summed from the lots as reported.
