Compared to the last sale 03/30-31/2023: Feeder steers 8.00-12.00 higher where tested. Feeder heifers 3.00-8.00 higher on limited Current FOB trades. Stocker cattle and calves sold fully 5.00-10.00 higher on limited comparable sales. Demand very good as supplies continue to get tighter. Slaughter cattle moved sharply higher this week and demand remains very good as kills continue to be extremely current. Drought continues to plague Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Southern Colorado, among other places. This forcing some to sell earlier than normal. Supply included: 70 percent South Central; 3 percent from the North Central; 2 percent from the North East; 2 percent from the West and 23 percent from the South East. Current deliveries are 14 days from the last day of the sale and is up to and including April 27, 2023. Deliveries are Current thru December, 2023

Source: USDA AMS · Oklahoma City, OK. Prices are as filed, F.O.B. at origin, with the buyer taking freight — they are not comparable to a spot ring price and never enter a barn average. Weights are USDA’s estimates — these cattle had not been weighed when they sold. Delivery months differ between lots; a price for one month is not a price for another. Head is summed from the lots as reported.
