Reporter comment USDA

As filed

No recent sale available to establish a price trend for feeders or slaughter cows. Supply light. Demand moderate to good. This weeks sale was broadcast on DV Auction for the first time which generated considerable online bidding. Live and feeder contracts are finding traction so far this week with contracts up the 4.50 limit on Tuesday. Our most immediate issue now may be getting cattle harvested as many packing facilities have struggled to keep enough workers clocked in to maintain pace which decreases leverage for sellers of fed cattle and could back up numbers if it continues for long.
