As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers steady to 5.00 lower. Feeder heifers 3.00-10.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 lower. Demand moderate. Supply moderate. Live cattle futures closed higher Tuesday but have been under assault for days due partly to inadequate weekly slaughter volumes that, as we learned last year, tend to make the fed cattle too cheap and the cutout values too high. Meanwhile the feeders continue to feel added heat from a relentless corn market that made new contracts highs again Tuesday. Locally, spring pastures may take a hit with sub-freezing temps on the way for Wednesday morning.
