Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 650 lbs 4.00-8.00 higher, few over 650 lbs steady. Feeder heifers steady. Demand good. Supply moderate. Slaughter cows 4.00-6.00 lower. Several good quality packages of light cattle this week. The weather is pretty good for October, although dry and dusty. The feeders are also getting support from solid fed cattle fundamentals with stabilizing cutout values, continued strong harvest pace and expected tightening supplies.
