As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 3.00-10.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for a moderate supply that included several reputation consignments of weaned calves and some of the top prices were achieved near the end of the day as buyers finished up loads. Corn continued lower on Wednesday with July down hard and December new crop closing under $5.00/bushel. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher.

Slaughter cattle

By class and quality grade · $/cwt

Cull cows and bulls are graded, not weight-classed — grade is what moves the money here.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
