Compared to last week: Steers and heifers were too lightly tested today to develop an accurate market trend, however steady to firm undertones were noticed on all offerings. Quality this sale was mostly plain to average. Most lots were offered in small packages of as singles. Demand was good to very good. Sharply higher fat cattle sales were seen around the country this week, spurring higher CME live and feeder cattle contract prices. Market activity was active to very active despite light offerings. Weigh up cows sold on mostly good demand for moderate offerings. Packers showed good demand for both feeding and slaughter cows this sale. Slaughter cows sold generally steady on all offerings. Feeding cows sold steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold generally steady in a narrow comparison. Weigh up conditions were mixed as some cows offered buyers above average weigh conditions, while others offered below average conditions. Young age cows suitable to feed or rebreed sold 10.00-15.00 higher. Quality this week was average to attractive. Most open rebreed type offerings sold for $1450-1700 per head.
