Compared to last week: Todays sale featured bred cows, bred heifers and weigh ups. No feeder cattle sold this sale. Over 2,000 cows were pregnancy checked for todays sale. Demand for bred cows was mostly good to very good for high quality bred cows off reputation ranches. Bred heifers were met with mostly moderate to good demand. Quality was mixed from plain to attractive. Package sizes were mostly small to moderate, with lots of singles noticed. Very few load lots or partial load lots noticed. Buyers were forced to piece together loads as a result. A large crowd of buyers was present for todays sale which stretched late into the evening. Demand did diminish as buyers filled loads and exited the market. Market activity was mostly moderate to active. Weigh up cows sold on mostly light to moderate demand for light to moderate offerings. Feeding cows and slaughter cows both sold generally steady with Wednesdays sale in a narrow comparison. Slaughter bulls were too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Young age cows suitable to feed or rebreed sold on good demand as many high quality opens sold off consigners bred offerings. Young age offerings sold generally steady with Wednesdays sale.
