Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 4.00 to 6.00 higher on comparable sales. Not enough comparable sales on feeder heifers for a market trend, but a higher undertone was noted. Slaughter cows were mostly steady. Replacement cattle were firm. Trading activity was active on good demand. Quality was mostly plain to attractive, with the majority of the supply consisting of large load lots of cattle. Hot and dry conditions have returned to the area.
